THE CHRONOLOGY:
09.10: Ami asked M-san, "M-san, any news on the TxT calendar you ordered for me a few months ago? When are they arriving?" M-san said, "If they're released this week then they'll be sent in the next air shipment, which arrives Friday next week."
09.20: Ami wrote e-mail to Nere, relaying the information from MDS.
14.00: Ami was wrapping Marvel, DC, Vertigo comics and whatnot at the CS-counter when M-san approached Ami and said, "Ah, Ami-chan, the calendar you asked about this morning has arrived. Want to see them?" Ami's reaction was, "HONTOU?! MAJI DE?! HAYAI DESU NE!" M-san agrees. Yappari, HAYAI DESU.
14.10: Ami returned back to the office and checked out five copies of the TxT calendar on M-san's desk. Excited, she ran to her desk in the office, wanting to write to her friend to tell her about it. Buuuuut. Unfortunately, Boss is using the computer so she had to use the cell phone to do so.
14.14: Ami's call didn't get through. Strange neeetwooork. So she went back to the comp to see whether Boss had gone or not. AND YES, BOSS HAD LEFT THE ROOM!
14.20: Ami bombarded friend with e-mail and messages. During the e-mail writing process, the extension phone rang. It was from JB-JM reservation counter. E-san asked Ami, "Hey, you reserved two calendars. Is the extra copy for you or someone else?" Ami's answer: "One for me, one for my friend - the one who subscribes to Shuukan Television - and the other three, PUT THEM ON DISPLAY!"
16.30: Ami returned to the office after some more comics-wrapping and found friend's e-mail. She felt even more excited than before and decided to hang out in JB-JM reservation counter to stay close to the calendars.
19.30: Ami finished her work and paid one last visit to the JB-JM counter before she went home. She felt sad that she couldn't buy the calendar right away but she kissed her copy twice before she left. <3
21:50: Ami is writing this entry and thinking about her dear calendar that is still sitting in Kino's JB-JM reservation counter. Must. Be. Patient. And. Wait. Until. Monday. T___T

IRONY

It's been brought to my attention lately that LIFE IS FULL OF IRONY. Previously, I thought that it wouldn't happen to me but I suppose everyone must have some form of irony in life. So let me tell you what's ironic in mine.

You see, a few weeks ago, my dear father announced to us that he would be traveling to the US in mid-February. We were worried that he would go away during his birthday. Fortunately, he reassured us that he would only leave after his birthday. But that's beside the point. In any case, as usual, he offered to buy all of the things we needed in the US, like in previous occasions. The last time he went, I did some major DVD-shopping. This time around, since I'm in the process of completing my manga collection, I decided to ask him to buy me those English-translated manga. My mother suggested that we order them from Amazon.com and have them delivered to her friend Uncle A's house and my dad will pick them up there... all to save him time and the trouble to find these manga (I don't know where to point him to buy these manga even though they seem to be popular in the US). We did that and last week, my mom confirmed that the manga have safely arrived at Uncle's house. I got all excited and thought that my dad was going to go at the beginning of this week and by next Tuesday or Wednesday, I'd be the proud owners of those manga!

Then all of a sudden, my dad suddenly said last Monday that the trip has been delayed for A WHOLE MONTH because his company isn't ready to send him and his colleagues on this trip due to the several documents that hadn't been processed. It was like a bad omen for me. Only that time, I didn't realize that my dad's announcement was an omen. Now I do. I had managed to stay positive about my dad's delayed trip. I kept telling myself, "OK, well... it can't be helped. It's a business trip for Pete's sake and if you don't bring your official business documents, what's the point of going on the friggin' trip, right?!" I also managed to tell myself that I am now an adult and fretting and whining about it would only make me look like a childish, stupid spoilt brat in front of my parents. I mean, come on! I am already earning my own money... would it be right for me to act like a damn 13-year-old?

Herein lies the irony.
Just today among the mountains of newly arrived books from our U.S. supplier I saw Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles vol. 4, Legal Drug vol. 2, Saiyuki Vol. 6 and XXXHolic Vol. 4.
In other words, THE BOOKS THAT I HAD ALREADY ORDERED IN AMAZON.COM FOR MY DAD TO PICK UP AT UNCLE'S HOUSE!!!
Can you imagine the shock I felt? The reason why I had wanted my dad to buy them for me in the US was because I was completely sure that the shipment of these books would come in A MONTH OR TWO MONTHS LATE. And instead of the shipment that is late, it's MY DAD'S DEPARTURE THAT IS LATE. My dad used to never go late or be delayed. The shipment used to never come on time. WHY IS IT THE REVERSE NOW?! WHY?! WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY?!

WHY?!

My friends said that I looked terribly pale when I saw those books being piled up in the trolley. They asked me what was the matter. I couldn't even speak. I didn't want to tell them about my stupidity. I didn't want to tell them that I ordered from Amazon.com for NOTHING AT ALL. In the end, things didn't go as I planned it to be. I am not happy with it.

If you think I'm just being dramatic, well... maybe I am. Now that I've poured out my frustration and written an essay about such a trivial matter, I shall go into hiding until I feel better about the whole thing. May you never have to go through what I have to go through now.

YASUMI NO HI

KAMENASHI-KUN, OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU!

Yep, today's KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi's 19th birthday. Now he's the same age as Junnosuke and Kouki. But he's still the baby of the group! Well, Kame-chan, happy 19th birthday and best wishes for you!

The first time I ever visited its website, and found this great illustration in it. It looks pretty fantastic. The bigger version is so wallpaper material so I'm probably going to use it as one later on after I modify it. And I do know why I love this picture so much: it has so many WINGS in it! ^_^ (I'm really taking this "wing" thing seriously. Aieee...) In any case, here's the small version of that picture:

Sakura-hime and Syaoran look so beautiful together. Now I feel somewhat optimistic that the anime is going to be enjoyable and pleasant, although I will have to re-confirm by hearing the seiyuu-tachi acts.

Today's my day off. I have two extra days off in February as compensation for my overtime in January (don't expect me to explain how the calculation of working days work because it's too complicated). So what I've been doing for the whole day is basically sleep, sleep and sleep. I just wanted to get some rest. Ahhh and it was quite blissful to sleep and nap for the whole day.
Shez Darling came over because I wanted her to read this new yaoi manga that I just bought yesterday in Kino. Its title in English is PASSION by Shinobu Gotou (author) and Shoko Takaku (illustrator). The former is, of course, the author of TAKUMI-KUN SERIES (illustrated by my favorite Ohya Kazumi). Shez and I discussed the story and decided that it was typically Shinobu Gotou because of the angst-type love story. Unfortunately, Gotou's angst isn't the kind of angst that I really enjoy. Now, talk about Touko Kawai's angst... now that's something we like. (But TAKUMI-KUN SERIES = Lovely! ^_^ Because Saki+Takumi = LOVE!)
Anyway, Shez just went home... and I'm left with... THE TASK TO WRITE A FIC! Ergh, damn Shez. She came up with this Jin+Junno Ghost Story but was too lazy to write it but I liked it so I have to write it and later on post it up in our JinNoholic journal. Gyan. Damn you, Shezzy....

*yawn* I'm getting sleepy again. Today's really, really slow... but maybe that's good. I really do need this break.

MY NEW OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA SHOTS

I'm full, I'm bloated. We went out to have lunch in Shangri-La hotel today. Yum. Demo, yappari, tabesugita kana.

I came back home and started to play around with my new Olympus digicam. I took pictures of the stuff in my room. I bought two bags recently and here they are:

REEBOK BAG: The one I bought yesterday in Plaza Indonesia when I went shopping with Shez Darling. I first saw it from the window outside and fell in love with it, then and there. I've always wanted this kind of bag, and the black and white color combi is perfect. Sporty yet chic. Of course, I had no other choice but to buy it. :)
ROXY "RICH & FAMOUS" BAG: I think this is what it's called, "RICH & FAMOUS". I forgot. It's somewhere along that lines. Anyway. ISN'T IT PRETTY?! This bag is almost sold out everywhere in the surf apparel shops in Jakarta! I looked everywhere for it. Finally got one in Point Break Plaza Senayan. So I got it. There's a smaller, handbag-type version of this bag, but it was completely sold out (otherwise I would have gotten it too). I swear, I am in love with the pink! Although this one looks like a small suitcase, I use it as a briefcase to go to the office. Adorable bag.

Right after I took pictures of those two bags, I looked around my room, which I had just cleaned last night and realized... I HAVE NO MORE SPACE IN MY ROOM FOR ALL THOSE BOOKS!!!

Absolutely no more space! I already did the best I could in finding spaces for those books but in the end, I even had to sacrifice my desk and put the remaining ones on top of my laptop. Argh, I can't believe I have so many. I just hope I won't buy any more. See, collecting manga tankoubon does not only drain your wallet but also eat up space in your room! Argh. I don't know if this means I have to:
A. ASK FOR MORE A BIGGER ROOM!
B. STOP BUYING TANKOUBON!
Tough choice, those. ^^;;;;;;;;;;;;

Speaking of digital cameras, Daigocchi, why the hell did you upload big-ass sized pictures in your personal official site?! He didn't resize his pictures. LOL! Hahaha... what a dork! You just love to see yourself in a SUPER SIZE PIC, eh? *chuu* Then again, you are adorable, so I don't mind looking at you in these biggie piccies. Just... be kind to my browser, will you?!

I just realized, I'm happy to own the Junnosuke Taguchi Fanlisting AND the Daigo Stardust Fanlisting. I don't know why but I'm just happy. :)

I'm sleepy now. I think I'm going to go and listen to my new CD. :D (You'd be shocked to know what I bought. XD)

WINGS

Spending the weekend with Shez Darling is becoming a habit. <3 But I love it. Today, we both went to Plaza Indonesia (where else if not Kino!) and bought our magazines. I also shopped... Body Shop, Reebok and CDs. Lovely. Then in the afternoon we head over to Town Square to watch { CONSTANTINE }, followed by crepes and eclairs. In the evening, SHOKURA, where we both drooled over JinNo (particularly Junno because he is so hot). She just went home like half an hour ago and now I'm beat. Tiredness... strikes... in...

{ CONSTANTINE }. Not so bad a movie. It's not as dark as I thought it would be. The visual is not extremely stunning, but it's in the right proportions. So I found it watchable, and considering that I hate horror/action films in general, that's a compliment. Call me morbid but the scenes that I found most poignant were the death and suicide scenes. And the electrocution scene was trilling as well. How Constantine saw what happened since the unearthing of the Spear of Destiny that lead to the present state of chaos. That was great vision. I also love the scenes where angel's wings were spread out; Gabriel's wings and the wings of that man kneeling beside the dead priest.

I have an affinity for this word now. I think whenever the word "wings" come up in any kind of situation. When I saw a manga magazine called WINGS, I turned. My favorite manga series is called TSUBASA RESERVOIR CHRONICLES. In every song I hear, I try to look for the word "wing" (in any language) in the lyrics. And now, I'm fascinated with the physical shape of a pair of wings. Such as in the movie { CONSTANTINE }. I couldn't take my eyes off them. I'd watch this film again just for the wings. They're so beautiful.

And back to the film discussion... yes, { CONSTANTINE }. Plot is OK. Dialogues are often funny. Pace is fine, not too fast and not to slow. Acting is not bad. BUT WHERE THE HELL WAS THE CLIMAX? So perhaps it was a little bit too flat. It's high tension most of the time but this causes the film not to have any particular climax. I also think that it doesn't have any significant message to deliver. Like, at the end, we were asking, "So, what? Are they trying to say... suicide is bad and you shouldn't do it because if you do it, when you are revived you know you're going to hell?" ^^;;;; So that one was missing. Maybe I should read the graphic novel. Yeah, maybe that's it. (But me no likey American graphic novels. :P) All in all, it's good, though. 7.5 out of 10 maybe. Go watch it, people, for your entertainment.

Oh and somehow { CONSTANTINE } reminds me of Kaori Yuki's { ANGEL SANCTUARY }. Somehow. It's the wings, I tell you.

{ THE DAILY SHOW: GLOBAL EDITION } featured STEPHEN COLBERT. How lovely. He had two segments. First he talked about The Gates. He had stubbles. Looked quite sexy. I thought Jon Stewart was looking at him quite lovingly when he first pointed out Stephen's stubbles. The pun that came right after that made me roll around in laughter. SO FRIKKIN' FUNNY! XD The next one was "THIS WEEK IN GOD". This one's even funnier. But I'd rather not comment on it because it's about religion. Sensitive issue. I avoid this kind of talk in my blog. I have to record it tomorrow because today I didn't prepare the video, as I didn't know that Stephen was going to be on. Ahhhh, le Colbert... he cracks me up.

Lastly, I'd just like to point out that I discovered that I'm not the only one who thinks that keeping this blog is stupid and pointless because everybody's now JOURNAL-ing (including myself, actually). Nonetheless, I can't bring myself to close it, as I originally intended at the beginning of this year, because yappari, this blog is too special for me. *sigh* I'm just glad that someone else other than me is feeling like that. :)

Jenn is right; someone needs to get me away from these books... the obsession is becoming YABAI!)

I bought some really cute stuff today. I'm going to cap them and show them up here. Yay for shopping! Yay for Kino! Yay for digicam!

Oh, and speaking of Kino, new magazines!!! I got my Kera and Shuukan The Television as well as TV Pia and Ray. I wanted to buy Seventeen even! Everything is {GOKUSEN 2} dorama madness! XD I just bought it for Akanishi. It's not like I'm actually excited about seeing the actual drama itself (not a fan of Gokusen; unless it's got yaoi-ness, which I doubt, and even if it did, it wouldn't really interest me because it's not JinNo! :P) Anyway. Spluuuuurged a lot, as usual.

Still speaking of, PRE-ORDER {HARRY POTTER & THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE} (Scholastic) in Kino. Their retail price is Rp 250.000 and especially for pre-orders, there's a 10% discount (so it becomes Rp 225.000). Launch date is 16 July 2005.

Enough about Kino and books. I'm hungry. Let's eat dinner.
